SARAH PALIN IS MCCAIN V.P.

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Was this a good move? A decision that dumbfounded numerous Republican officials, McCain named Palin as his running-mate. Yes, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is also a maverick who doesn’t hesitate to clash with other within her own party and basically an unknown in the political arena; is this ideal? Two mavericks? How do they complement each other? Should McCain have chosen someone who fills in his shortcomings, such as a good economist? Well, the age difference, she is three years Obama’s junior, is definitely an asset along with her strong ethics, proven when she exposed the state GOP chairman. Additionally, she is a strong anti-abortion advocate, which will more than please the extra conservative Republicans.

McCain smartly waited until this morning to divulge his running-mate so as to prevent Obama from using it as another tool for political gain derived from his convention.

A woman point of view is bound to spring out more energy into McCain’s campaign and might give him these few extra percentages to bring him into the lead. From the latest poll, McCain and Obama are in a tight race.

As head of the Alaska National Guard and mother to a soldier, Palin can speak on the same level about the war of Iraq and how it affects American families. Furthermore, many woman voters might feel more confident with a woman with similar background and understanding. McCain and Palin have two months to convince voters why they are better for the country well-being.

How Many People Have No Health Insurance

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Just for fun some day, say maybe on a slow Monday, take a poll of your friends or co-workers, and ask how many people they think do not have health insurance in America.

The answer will, no doubt surprise and sadden you. The common response is somewhere around 40-60% of the population.

This is sad because it shows just how well the rhetoric machine can influence the uninformed.

It is surprising because the actual number is lower than 10%.

Even those on the extreme left do not claim a figure anywhere near the 40-60%.

The most common scary number the left likes to throw around is that 45 million Americans are without health insurance - a number that is disingenuous, to say the least.

But even that number works out to only about 15% (45 million) of the population.

Of those 45 million that are said to be without health insurance,
there are about 10-15 million people who make over $75,000.00 a year.. These are folks who could easily purchase their own health insurance but simply choose not to.

That brings the number down to 30-35 million, or around 10% (of the population).

Of the remaining 30-35 million… many are young people who feel age is on their side and are not terribly concerned about health insurance.

There are (also) children who are actually covered under Medicaid and there are those individuals who for one reason or another do not work, either through choice or through circumstances.

So you can see that the number is easily less than 10% anyway.

The rhetoric machine has been so successful that it has convinced people of a crisis where there is none.

Sure it is tragic that any would be without health insurance and it would seem to make sense to come up with a way to cover that small minority.

But why are we looking to place 90% of the population under socialized, government health care when they are already covered?

Do you truly believe that a government run health care system would be better?

Do you truly believe it would be free?

If you do, I would suggest you take a look at a government run health care system that already exists called the Veterans Hospital system.

OBAMA’S “CHANGE” AGENDA ROOTED FROM THE REDS

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

The “New Party” (NP) is the result of a “fusion” of the Democratic Party and leftist group founded in 1992 with 7,000 members. An anti-capitalist party of ex-Communists, socialists and activists from ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), a hard-left group, helped Obama start in politics in 1996 when he won a state senate seat. The interesting fact is that the NP does not just endorse anybody; one must request an audition to be accepted. As per a 1995 update on the New Party-aligned Chicago Democratic Socialists of America web site:
“About 50 activists attended the Chicago New Party membership meeting in July. The purpose of the meeting was . . . to hear appeals for NP support from four potential political candidates.”

To get an endorsement from the NP one must “be approved via a NP political committee. Once approved, candidates must sign a contract with the NP. The contract mandates that they must have a visible and active relationship with the NP,” stated the site. Conclusion: Obama did sign on with the group and one cannot help but wonder what is he supposed to do in return? What kind of debt will he be called upon in the future? However, even more importantly is what NP platform appealed to Obama?

The NP’s statement that it was created “to break the stranglehold that corporate money and corporate media have over the political process,” sounds a little too familiar and makes one quizzy.

Obama’s change proposals sound too similar to the NP policies: a bill of rights for children, a shorter work week, a universal “social” wage and military spending cuts. What does it tell you? Parents will have to forfeit their parental rights; welfare will go up, and our nation’s security will be in dire jeopardy.

Americans should seriously scrutinize Obama and stop being blinded by his charisma and wild promises and ponder how his communistic views added to the new development of Russia invasion of Georgia, without forgetting his plan to talk with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. And let’s not forget China, who just like Russia is hiding behind a mask of hospitality for the Olympic Games but is nonetheless is totalitarian and corrupt government with no respect for human rights and has no qualms to deceive (at least it thinks so) the world. Obama might have his views on it too to further his plans, and why not, China is communist just like…
