MCCAIN PROMISES MORE EDUCATION OPTIONS

John McCain reiterated his promise to help children with more educational options, during his speech at the NAACP in Cincinnati. He will support the use of vouchers for poor children in failing schools and expand merit pay programs for teachers who help improve students’ performance as well as increase grants for tutoring poor students. McCain not only promise “to push the government to provide more education and economic assistance, but also urged blacks to demand more of themselves.”

MCCAIN’S EDUCATIONAL PLAN

John McCain and his education adviser, Lisa Keegan, announced yesterday that on July 16, Sen. McCain will be rolling out his educational plan while speaking at the NAACP. He doesn’t plan to increase the budget of $23 billion but rather reallocate it to expand the merit-pay programs for teachers who help improve students score and also funds a tutoring low income children program.

McCain will support a school voucher program for poor children in failing schools and give them more choices.
