AL GORE ENDORSES OBAMA
Tuesday, June 17th, 2008At the Joe Louis Arena, in downtown Detroit, Al Gore officially endorsed Obama leading to rumors of a possible joint ticket. No matter its veracity, Gore assured the voters that Obama “has more than enough experience to be the [next] president.” He added that “the outcome of this election will affect the future of our planet.”
But the uproar of the day was Obama’s announcement that he hired Patti Solis Doyle, Clinton’s former campaign manager who was literally fired, leading to conjectures that Hillary Clinton will not be considered as a potential vice-president. Hiring a fired former Clinton’s employee is far from enticing an easy Democratic transition.
However, Mo Elleithee, Clinton campaign spokesman had only praises for Ms. Doyle. “Patti will be an asset and good addition to the Obama campaign….She brings with her the ability to tap an extensive network that will be a huge asset to Sen. Obama.”
