LOUISIANA: KEY POLITICAL ROLE IN PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

Voters in Louisiana kept hearing presidential candidates talk about Iraq and
health care but nothing about the reconstruction of their state. Democrats
and Republican are advised to address this issue if they want to gather
their votes. There are 182 Democratic delegates and 92 Republican ones.
Social conservatives in Louisiana might very well back up Huckabee, who won
in the Southern States of Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Arkansas on Super
Tuesday, because of his more conservative views. As for the Democrats, the
Louisiana African-American population could give Obama his win.

DEMOCRATIC FACE OFF THIS WEEKEND

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

The battle in four states, Washington, Nebraska, Louisiana and Maine, to win
most of the 161 delegates, 78 coming from Washington State, has started on
Friday the 8th. Saturday, Washington and Nebraska hold caucuses while
Louisiana is having its primary. Sunday caucuses will be in Maine. Tough
Clinton has the support of Washington two females senators, Washington Gov.
Chris Gregoire has endorsed Obama. So far the race remains tight and we
might be witnessing another standoff.

ONE DAY LEFT BEFORE SUPER TUESDAY

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

Fire speeds up the last minute campaigns by Mc Cain and Romney. In Boston,
John McCain promises to work with Democrats if need be, for the better good
of the country, while maintaining his Republican conservative values.
Specifics on correcting the vacillating economy will include “cutting taxes”
and releasing the free market.

Romney, on the other hand, is trying to rally strong conservative
Republicans to his side with his views on taxes, immigration and job
experience. He’s campaigning in Tennessee, Georgia, Oklahoma and California.
Mc Cain will cover Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.
